I also was a field biologist, with birds, for a brief time. Now, at almost 50, I'm interested in a small farm in New England. Having been a devoted wildlife and pet lover my entire life, I know my emotions will be challenged when I bring goats and poultry and maybe more sorts of livestock into my life. This post about your cow sums up all my fears into one story. As a life-long, but liberal and reluctant, South-easterner myself, with a Canadian husband who is hedging on a return to real winters, the trials of New England winters on a small farm, possibly by myself, ring loudly.
I know there are a number of good farm memoirs out today but it sounds like you have one in you and the talent to lay out honest prose that readers like me love.
Thank you for this post.
I'm very happy I found your blog and look forward to following.
kind regards, LeeciaAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02878034478690558035noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4423350024112030232.post-81942159743730455192011-03-22T10:30:52.679-04:002011-03-22T10:30:52.679-04:00What a heart warming story-Luke looked over my sho...What a heart warming story-Luke looked over my shoulder just as I scrolled to the bottom of the page to the picture of Tildy.
"Oh what a cute cow! Don't you want to get one of those?" he said.Vermont Grand View Farmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01768128691862255428noreply@blogger.com
